A unique, impressive memorial candle in honor of the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.
The base of the memorial candle is a large Magen David carved into Jerusalem stone, at the center of which is a depression from which emerge 6 arms – one for every million who perished.
The arms, of forged iron, are designed to resemble barbed wire – a symbol for the fence surrounding the concentration camps built by the Nazis. The candle holders at the ends of the arms are wide and designed in the shape of the Calla Lily blossom – the flower planted in graveyards on memorial days. The width of the candle holder is also suitable for the large candles used on memorial days.
This work integrates a number of symbolic elements from Judaism and the memory of the Holocaust, creating a strong effect one cannot ignore.
