KATZRIN BAZELET

A very large and impressive menorah carved from basalt rock from the Golan Heights.

This menorah was designed and carved with the inspiration of menorahs found in archaeological digs in what was then ancient Katzrin, in the Golan Heights, where Hanukkah has been celebrated for thousands of years.

The menorah’s rough design expresses the wildness and strength of the basalt boulders scattered throughout the Golan Heights.  On the rock rest delicate candle holders of golden bronze, which integrates in an interesting contrast with the blackened brown of the basalt.

The body of this menorah was carved from a single piece of rough, basalt rock.

size: 80 cm width, 110 cm height.
