Mezuzahs crafted from Sandstone, Iron and Brass

op mezuzah:  A mezuzah crafted of Nubian sandstone and black iron.

This mezuzah expresses the intense contrasts between the light, delicate sandstone and rough, black iron.

The mezuzah body is crafted of Nubian sandstone of reddish white, polished and smoothed with meticulous care.

The clasps at the mezuzah sides are fashioned of decorated black iron.  The letter Shin on the mezuzah body is also carved in iron.

The contrast between the various elements results in a very striking appearance that is hard to overlook – it simply attracts the eye.

Bottom mezuzah:  A delicate mezuzah crafted of sandstone and brass.

A finely crafted, delicate design.  The mezuzah body is carved from sandstone in shades of red and perfectly polished to miniature proportions.

The mezuzah clasps are actually one-piece mechanisms that are connected to each other and embrace the mezuzah sides.

Both the clasps and the letter shin that is adhered to the sandstone are constructed of brass – a copper and zinc alloy.
