Mezuzahs in Various Integrations of Stone and Metal

Top mezuzah:  A contrast of colors, this mezuzah is crafted of Jerusalem stone and black iron.

The body of the mezuzah is of smooth, light Jerusalem stone, hand-carved into a beautifully symmetrical shape.

The stone sits on a thin slice of roughly carved iron which embraces the stone from all sides.  The mezuzah clasps are also crafted of iron, as is the letter shin adhered to the Jerusalem stone.

This is a simple, strong design.

Middle mezuzah:  A mezuzah in dark hues, of red granite, stainless steel and glass.

In colors of red-silver-gray and in a uniquely original design, this mezuzah’s body is carved of red granite stone that is dotted in countless hues – a reflection of the variety of materials comprising the stone.

In the center of the stone is a carved, open space for the mezuzah scroll, inside of which is a transparent, glass tube for the scroll.  This design allows viewers to see the scroll, while still protecting it from the environment.

The mezuzah clasps are of stainless steel, in a heart-shaped design at each side of the mezuzah, and the entire mezuzah rests on a flat, stainless steel body with slightly protruding edges to provide an elegant, silver frame.

An interesting, uniquely-designed mezuzah.

Bottom mezuzah:  A luxurious design in white and gold, crafted of Timna stone and brass.

The mezuzah body is crafted of light Timna rock dotted with hues of red-blue-green.  The rock has been roughly polished to look a little “broken” at the edges, reflecting the natural, rough look of the original stone.

The clasps and the letter shin are of brass (copper-zinc alloy), and the entire mezuzah rests on an additional brass base that has been decorated with tiny, hand-carved ridges.

The design of the brass base continues the theme of rough stone and grants this mezuzah a strong, balanced look, enhancing the beauty of the gold and white colors.
