Holocaust Number on Arm

A memorial sculpture in honor of Israeli Holocaust Survivor Eli Rizman.

The sculpture is crafted of Jerusalem stone, forged iron and wood.  A large block of Jerusalem stone has been roughly cut, carved and polished to form the base of this sculpture.  The arm is crafted of wood, and the hand is of forged iron.  On the arm are forged iron numerals.

The number on the arm is the same number the Nazis tattooed on Rizman’s arm.  The day he was tattooed was also his birthday, and the date appears on the small iron plate.

Despite his terrible hardships, Rizman raised a beautiful family in the land of Israel, and I was delighted to create this sculpture in his honor.

size: 45 cm width, 85 cm height.
